Eight Crazy Nights

Sunday, Dec. 6- Monday, Dec. 14

Throughout the holiday there will be many different events taking place. Watch the annual car menorah parade as it passes through Oakland on Sunday, come to campus each night to light your own menorah while enjoying Chanukah treats, Monthly Kosher dinner on campus and join the Grand Menorah Lighting at The Fence, featuring President Subra Suresh, live music from the CMU Pipe Band and menorah lighting by CMU faculty members.

Car Menorah Parade

Sunday, Dec. 6, 5:15 pm

Gather on the corner of Fifth and Morewood to watch as the streets get lit up with the yearly Car Menorah Parade. About 100 cars will drive by with lit Menorahs on top.

Monday Night Dinner and Elections

Monday, Dec. 7, 5:30- 6:30 pm, Pake Room (CUC, 2nd fl.)

Come light a menorah and enjoy a bagel bar dinner as we vote in the new Chabad Student Board. Of course there will be latkes and doughnuts for all to enjoy as well.

Men orah Lightings:

This year, Menorah lightings will take place on campus and at Chabad. We will provide the menorahs and yummy Chanukah foods and you bring yourself and friends. Here are the times and locations:

2nd night (Mon.): 5:30-6:30 pm, Pake Room (CUC, 2nd fl.)
3rd night (Tue.): 5:30-6:30 pm, Dowd Room
4th night (Wed.): 5:30-6:30 pm, Dowd Room

5th night (Thurs.): 5:30 pm @ The Fence
6th night (Fri.): 4:15 pm @ Chabad
7th night (Sat.): 5:45 pm @ Chabad

8th night (Sun.): 5:30-6:30 pm, Danforth Lounge

Grand Menorah Lighting
Thursday, Dec. 10, 5:30 pm

The CMU Jewish community will unite to light a large menorah at The Fence. President Subra Suresh and other CMU faculty members will light the menorah followed by live Chanukah music by the CMU Pipe Band. Hot apple cider and latkes will be served for all to enjoy. An event you don’t want to miss!

Participating organizations: AEPi, Hillel JSA, Jewish Graduate Student Association, JGrads and SAE.

Themed Shabbat and Speaker
Friday, Dec. 11, 7:00 pm @ Chabad

Join us for a Chanukah themed Shabbat dinner with guest speaker, Captain Jeff Coran, commanding officer of the local NROTC.
