About Chabad on Campus
What is Chabad on Campus? Chabad on Campus is a home-away-from home for tens of thousands of Jewish Students. More than 140 campuses are served by Chabad Jewish Stdudent Centers, and regional Chabad-Lubavitch centers offer varied activities at an additional 150 campuses worldwide.
The heart of Jewish student life!
Chabad anticipates and serves the needs of students on a social, educational and spiritual level. At Chabad, all students are welcome, regardless of background, affiliation, and level of observance. Every student becomes part of the Jewish community. Every Jew is family.
Leadership: At Chabad clubs on dozens of campuses, students are invited to take leadership roles in their campus communities, helping foster the creation of the next generation of empowered Jewish leadership.
Community: We believe that family and community are vital keys to character building. That’s why we open our home to students, helping inspire them with a respect for family values and a deep meaningful concern for the people and the land of Israel.
Chabad on Campus National Foundation: The central body of Chabad on Campus assists Chabad Student Centers worldwide. This includes logistical support and staff training, as well as centralized programming such as national Shabbatons and student leadership retreats.
Expansion: The first Chabad House was started on the UCLA campus in the heady 60's. More recently the Foundation, with the assistance of visionary philanthropists George and Pamela Rohr of New York, has set an ambitious course of expansion. Indeed, during the past five years alone the Chabad campus presence has increased by more than 100%.
